For the convenience of our users, we offer RootsMagic in both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions. The 64-bit version is unable to access some old operating system libraries which are necessary to import Legacy Family Tree or old Family Tree Maker files. The 32-bit version of RootsMagic runs fine either 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows. Unless you are certain you need to use the 64-bit version of RootsMagic, we recommend you download and use the 32-bit version.
